The MoLuv Story

MoLuv, a range of bold and brightly coloured chunky mohair knits inspired by the joyful nostalgia of childhoods gone by, reflecting a playful sensibility.

MoLuv was born out of a long-cherished love for luxurious knits. Motivated by admiration of our wardrobe knits and encouragement from those held dear, so began our journey in sourcing mohair, one of the world’s most beautiful sustainable natural fibres, both insulating and comfortable while dedicating ourselves to perfecting patterns in creating sumptuous knitwear that evoke an artisanal feeling without compromising on style and simple elegance.
Our mohair is farmed in the Karoo area of the Eastern Cape, where majestic shaggy Angora goats are hand shorn twice a year with no harm to them.
Drawing inspiration from natures landscapes, each knit an expression of dynamic colour revealing its alluring essence in all her boldness. Our oversized oh-so-comfy knits are for all seasons, perfect for those casual sunny days out shopping at the market or fun evenings out on the town with your besties or simply cuddling up by the fire on those cold winter nights.
We embrace slower traditional methods of creation and each MoLuv jersey and cardigan is hand knitted and hand stitched in small batches by skilled women within our local communities, so no two pieces are identical nor perfect, each carrying quirky aspects of the knitter herself who has spent hours weaving love into every stitch.
When you purchase a MoLuv knit you will not only experience the uniqueness embedded in every stitch enwrapping you in warmth and comfort making those cooler months memorable, but you will be making a positive impact on the planet through investing in sentimental heirloom pieces worth loving and sharing for years to come, contributing to the long-term prosperity of the Karoo region.
Mors Design is committed to slow fashion, skills development and creating sustainable jobs thereby empowering and uplifting communities - MoLuv embraces the ethos of our brand with a warm hug.

The Mors Story

Cape Town brand Mors was founded in 2015, born out of a love for beautiful silhouettes and a passion for sustainable design.

In recognising the beauty and durability in old tyre tubes we began our journey in rescuing raw material from landfills and dedicating ourselves to creating elegant products that don’t compromise on style, sustainability or ethics.

Mors is made from upcycled tyre tubes, encouraging a uniqueness to every bag we produce. Once the tyre tubes arrive at our studio in Cape Town, it undergoes a thorough cleaning process in preparation for the hand-cutting and adapting of this once thought to be defected waste material into creating a ‘treasure’ with true character.

Drawing inspiration from the stories of courageous women, each bag is designed with durability and careful consideration in mind and can be characterised by our bright exuberant colours, holding close to the spirit of Africa. The development, colour, standardisation and quality control is co-ordinated by co-founder Raihana Govender herself, who is closely connected to each stage of the of design and production to ensure that the end result keeps to the craftmanship, authenticity and ethical values of the brand. We believe eco and ethical can also be stylish and elevated.

Each bag is hand crafted by local artisans, who are either refugees or women from our local communities. We embrace slower traditional methods of bag creation and each Mors design is hand stitched, handwoven, braided or patched. Our timeless and versatile wardrobe staples are carefully hand crafted and limited in design, so no two pieces are the same.

When you purchase a Mors product you will experience master craftsmanship and contribute to the environment and positively impact every person involved in the manufacturing process.

Mors is committed to cleaning the environment, skills development and creating sustainable jobs thereby empowering and uplifting communities.

Mors is a slow fashion ‘labour of love’ adventure on which we would love to have you join us.

Caring for your bag

Your Mors bag has been mindfully hand crafted in Cape Town South Africa. It will last a lifetime if treated with care. To clean, simply wipe down with a damp cloth. Continued exposure to direct sunlight may cause the rubber material to slightly warp or discolour.
